Iran Missile Attack on Dimona: Child Injured, 20 Wounded

A difficult Shabbat (Saturday, March 21, 2026) has left dozens wounded across Israel as Iranian cluster missiles targeted the south and Hezbollah barrages battered the Galilee.

Sirens blared across Dimona, Yeruham, and the Dead Sea region on Saturday evening as Iran launched a fresh barrage. Magen David Adom (MDA) reports that at least 20 people were wounded in Dimona alone following a direct hit from an Iranian missile, likely a cluster munition.

Among the wounded are a 10-year-old boy and a 40-year-old woman, both in moderate condition with shrapnel injuries.

The impact sparked a large fire in a building and caused significant damage to surrounding structures.

The municipalities of Dimona and Yeruham have officially announced that schools and educational institutions will remain closed tomorrow.

The north faced a similarly intense day of fire from Lebanon. In Ma'alot-Tarshiha, a heavy Hezbollah barrage resulted in 8 injuries. The victims were treated for various wounds following several rocket impacts within the city limits.

The Roaring Lion campaign also reached the center of the country earlier in the day. A direct hit was recorded at a kindergarten in Rishon LeZion.

Fortunately, the building was empty at the time of the strike, and no casualties were reported in this specific incident.

The Home Front Command remains on high alert as the weekend concludes. With fires still being extinguished in Dimona and damage assessments underway in the Galilee, residents are urged to remain near protected spaces.
