Iran in the crosshairs

US Plans 'Mother of All Bombs' Use on Iran

The plan would target Iranian nuclear sites or infrastructure • Israel's security establishment has raised its alert level to the highest point in months | Trump warned at an Alaska rally that America will hit Iran hard

President Donald Trump

The US military has developed a plan to deploy the "Mother of All Bombs" for the first time in a potential confrontation with Iran, CNN reported. The plan would target Iranian nuclear sites or infrastructure.

In Israel, the security establishment raised its alert level on Wednesday to the highest point in months as intelligence assessments pointed to a possible Iranian attack, military analyst Yosef Yehoshua reported. Yehoshua said the IDF is preparing to return to full combat operations on the shortest possible notice. He added that the defense establishment's assessment is that any Israeli operation would be carried out in full coordination and cooperation with the American administration.

Channel 12 News reported Tuesday night that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump had spoken the previous week about the possibility of renewing military action against Iran.

US President Donald Trump warned Iran on Tuesday night at a campaign rally in Alaska. "Wait and see what we do to Iran. We're going to hit them hard," Trump told the crowd.

At the same rally, Trump declared that Iran would never obtain nuclear weapons, stating that its nuclear facilities were buried under "thousands of tons of rock."
