Vance Says U.S.-Iran Ceasefire Is Strategic Pause to Refill Oil Markets
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the memorandum of understanding with Iran is a strategic pause designed to refill global oil markets while keeping military options available. In an interview, Vance said the Trump administration is using the agreement "to, to some extent, refill the global oil market... and then see how things develop." President Trump separately noted that 19 million barrels of crude oil left the Persian Gulf following the agreement, adding "I have a 60-day window. After that, I can do whatever I want."
