Yoseph Haddad, a well-known Arab-Israeli activist and advocate for Israel, announced Sunday that he is stepping down as CEO of "Together - Vouch for Each Other," the organization he founded. The timing of his departure comes as reports circulate that Haddad is in discussions about joining a political party being launched by former IDF commander Ofer Winter, with an official announcement expected within days.
In a lengthy statement, Haddad reflected on founding the Arab-Israeli organization more than eight years ago with two partners. "We saw that there was no organization working on our behalf, speaking about real integration, about pride in being part of Israel," he wrote. "Instead, we saw our representatives doing nothing for us except deepening the divide and talking only about Gaza, Jenin and Ramallah. So we set out on our journey." He noted that skeptics dismissed the venture, predicting it would quickly fail.
Haddad described how the organization grew from those modest beginnings into a significant force, now counting hundreds of active members, thousands of registered supporters, and tens of thousands of additional backers. The group has conducted advocacy missions worldwide, including appearances before the U.S. Congress and British Parliament, and organized events on hostile university campuses. "We led massive pro-Israel demonstrations as Arabs in front of the White House, in front of the UN, in European capitals," he wrote. "You understand what power there is in a demonstration in London of Arabs supporting Israel facing an anti-Israel demonstration? People passing by thought we were confused about which side to join."
