The IDF and ISA eliminated a Hamas terrorist cell planning an imminent attack against IDF troops in central Gaza. Among those killed was Yousef Ibrahim Mahmoud Basheti, a Hamas operative who participated in firing anti-tank missiles at IDF positions, resulting in the deaths of 21 soldiers. The strike also eliminated a Nukhba terrorist, a Hamas military wing officer, a Hamas police operative, and three additional Hamas terrorists. The terrorists had approached the Yellow Line and posed an immediate threat to IDF forces. The IDF describes the elimination of Basheti as a significant step in addressing one of the most severe attacks against Israeli troops during the war.
