Eighty Meters of Underground War: Hezbollah’s Secret Staff Rooms Destroyed
Israeli forces have completed a massive operation to detect and destroy miles of underground terror tunnels in both the Gaza Strip and South Lebanon.

The IDF’s "Iron Fist" Reserve Brigade (205) has concluded a significant two-month operation in the northern Gaza Strip, focusing on the systematic destruction of the Hamas tunnel network. Working under the command of Division 252, the reservists collaborated with the elite Yahalom engineering unit to conduct more than six kilometers of specialized drilling. This systematic search allowed the forces to locate and destroy eight major underground routes located east of the "Yellow Line." During the operation, the brigade also killed dozens of terrorists and seized large quantities of Hamas military equipment.
This mission marks the sixth round of active combat for the brigade since the start of the war. Their previous deployments included high-intensity operations in both the southern Gaza Strip and South Lebanon, making them one of the most experienced reserve units in the current war. As they complete their tasks in this sector, they are being replaced by the 14th Brigade Combat Team, which will continue to hold the line and prevent the resurgence of terrorist activity in the cleared areas.
Simultaneously, the IDF has been making significant progress in dismantling Hezbollah's subterranean infrastructure in the north. The 401st Brigade Combat Team, operating under the 146th Division, recently located a complex 80-meter-long tunnel south of the forward defense line. Unlike simple transit tunnels, this structure contained several living quarters and staff rooms designed for long-term stays by Hezbollah terrorists. This facility was intended to allow terrorists to remain hidden close to the Israeli border to launch surprise attacks on civilians.
After a thorough investigation and the collection of intelligence findings, the 80-meter Hezbollah tunnel was completely destroyed by combat engineers. The IDF emphasized that these operations are crucial for removing the immediate threats to Israeli citizens living near the borders. By targeting the "underground world" of both Hamas and Hezbollah, the military is attempting to ensure that these terrorist organizations cannot easily return to their previous positions or launch the kind of large-scale infiltrations that triggered the current war.
