Iran posts from Khamenei account after death

Iran's Propaganda Machine Still Posting From Khamenei's Account — Months After His Elimination

The official Hebrew X account of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was eliminated at the start of Operation Roar of the Lion last year, published a new propaganda post Tuesday evening. The post claimed that since the start of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" operation, Israel has suffered an "irreversible defeat, both militarily and in terms of intelligence."

The post included the date 10/10/2023, days after the massacre, apparently citing remarks Khamenei made on that date, before he was killed in a combined US-Israel strike on February 28, 2026.

The continued posting on the active account demonstrates how the ayatollahs' propaganda apparatus keeps operating the digital channels of eliminated officials to spread familiar messages to Hebrew-speaking audiences, ahead of the third anniversary of the war.

Khamenei, who led the country for nearly 37 years, was eliminated in a large-scale attack that included air strikes and ground operations targeting nuclear facilities and strategic sites across Iran. After his death, his son Mojtaba Khamenei rose to power, steering the regime toward an even harder line.

According to an investigation published in The Wall Street Journal, the American intelligence community explicitly warned President Donald Trump that eliminating Khamenei would not lead to a political breakthrough or the regime's collapse, but would instead bring to power an even more extreme and rigid government.

Last June, Iran announced the schedule for Khamenei's massive funeral, held between July 4 and 9, 2026, after a lengthy delay since his death. Official estimates by Iranian enforcement authorities spoke of staggering numbers: between 18 and 35 million people participated in various ceremonies across the country.

Meanwhile, the Iranian regime continues an unprecedented wave of executions. According to a report published today on Iran International, a revolutionary court in northeastern Iran sentenced Hadi Abbasian, 38, to death this week after he was accused of actively supporting nationwide protests held last January. At least five people arrested in the protests have been executed since late September, while the organization Iran Human Rights warns that at least 100 additional detainees currently face immediate danger to their lives.

Against the backdrop of ongoing tensions, Israel's National Security Council published an unusual emergency warning today (Tuesday) ahead of the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre, cautioning that there is a sharp and tangible spike in the risk of attempted attacks on Israelis and Jews worldwide. According to intelligence assessments, Iran, Hamas and global jihad elements view this date as a central milestone.
