Global pop star Dua Lipa has reportedly severed ties with her longtime agent, David Levy, following his campaign to have the Irish rap group Kneecap removed from the Glastonbury festival lineup. Levy, who is Jewish, was the lead signatory on a letter that accused the pro-Palestinian group of fueling antisemitism.

The email, which was also signed by other prominent Jewish figures in the music industry, was sent to Glastonbury founders Michael and Emily Eavis and was marked "private and confidential" before being leaked.

A source in the music industry told The Mail on Sunday that Dua Lipa ended her professional relationship with Levy because his stance on the matter did not align with her own.

“She is very openly pro-Palestine and that doesn't align with David," the source said. "She views him as being a supporter of Israel's war in Gaza, and the terrible treatment of the Palestinians and that was made very clear through the letter that he signed and sent to Michael Eavis.”

Despite the protest from Levy and others, Kneecap performed as scheduled at Glastonbury.

The Belfast-based group has been at the center of a larger controversy. One of its members, Liam Og O hAnnaidh, is currently facing a terrorism charge after allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag at a concert last November. The group was also accused of showing support for both Hezbollah and Hamas during a performance at the Coachella festival in April.

Dua Lipa has been a vocal supporter of the Palestinian cause, condemning what she called the “Israeli genocide” in a May 2024 Instagram post. However, she has also previously condemned Hamas, stating, "I feel so bad for every Israeli life lost and what happened on October 7."

The Bristol-based band Massive Attack has also reportedly stopped working with Levy over the same issue.
