A new armed militia has emerged in Khan Younis, Gaza, openly challenging the authority of the Hamas terrorist organization. The group is commanded by Shouki Abu Nasira, a former Fatah security prisoner and ex-Palestinian Authority (PA) officer, who has publicly vowed to topple Hamas rule.

In a video circulating from Gaza, Abu Nasira is seen addressing approximately twenty armed men. He delivered a powerful message, branding Hamas as "fake" and a proxy of Iran, before giving the order to chant the anti-Hamas slogan: "Death to Hamas."

Commander’s History and Personal Struggle

Abu Nasira's background is deeply rooted in the Palestinian security and political landscape. He spent several years in an Israeli prison during the 1980s for terror activity, during which time he even made an audacious escape from Nafha Prison before being recaptured.

Following his release after the Oslo Accords, Abu Nasira rose through the ranks of the Palestinian Authority security forces, eventually attaining a senior rank before his retirement.

His personal conflict with Hamas has been intensified by the recent war. His son was reportedly killed, and he has received direct threats from both Hamas’s intelligence and internal security branches. This personal and political animosity appears to have fueled his decision to take up arms against the reigning terrorist regime.

Growing Anti-Hamas Armed Movement

Abu Nasira's militia is not an isolated incident; his group is one of several anti-Hamas armed factions now operating in the Gaza Strip.

The presence of multiple organized groups, led by former PA security and intelligence personnel, and openly expressing opposition to Hamas’s terror regime, suggests a fracture within Gaza's internal security structure. These militias represent a growing, armed counter-force against the dominant power of Hamas, which has maintained absolute control over Gaza since 2007. The open defiance and direct threats being issued by these groups signal a potentially volatile new internal political war in Gaza.
