Gaza’s Lost Graves

Hamas’s Cruel Chaos: Can’t Find 28 Murdered Hostages’ Bodies

Hamas’s inability to recover up to 15 hostage bodies exposes their savagery, as they reject peace to maintain control and exploit victims for leverage.

Hamas’s barbaric legacy from the October 7, 2023, massacre, where 1,200 Israelis were slaughtered and 251 kidnapped, continues to haunt as Israeli intelligence reveals the terrorist group cannot locate the bodies of up to 15 of the 28 hostages it murdered. This grim reality, reported by three Israeli sources to CNN, underscores Hamas’s callous disregard for human life and their refusal to sign a ceasefire deal, proving they prioritize control over Gaza and leverage over dead hostages above peace. The group’s chaotic handling of remains, scattered in tunnels, shallow graves, or rubble from their own rocket sites, has left families in agony, denied closure two years after the attack that killed 38 children among others.

Estimates vary, one source cites seven to nine unrecoverable bodies, another 10 to 15, based on Israeli intelligence and mediator communications. In Sharm el-Sheikh talks, Israel demands all remains returned as a condition to end the war, knowing Hamas can’t comply. Hamas, in turn, demands guarantees against rearresting released prisoners and a pledge Israel won’t resume fighting, while Israel vetoes their prisoner list, many tied to past terror acts like the 2002 Passover bombing. Al-Hadath reports Israel is withholding the bodies of Hamas leaders Yahya and Muhammad Sinwar for leverage. Mediators, per Al-Arabiya, warn of logistical hurdles in body transfers, but Hamas’s stalling reveals their true intent: clinging to power, not seeking peace.

Hamas, a U.S.- and EU-designated terror group, rejects every ceasefire, six so far, while holding 101 hostages, roughly 20 alive. A Walla official sees a first-phase deal soon, but Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s claim of a same-day resolution seems optimistic. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio skipped a Paris summit on Gaza’s postwar future, citing urgent regional needs. Hamas’s failure to account for its victims isn’t just incompetence, it’s a final cruelty, proving they value control over humanity. Israel fights on to bring every hostage home, dead or alive, for justice, not vengeance.
