Hamas Demands Immunity for Terrorists Trapped Underground in Rafah
Mediators are racing to secure a safe exit for trapped Hamas fighters east of the “yellow line,” using Red Cross vehicles and secure corridors.

According to a report on Al‑Jazeera cited by journalist Sapir Lapkin, mediators are conducting negotiations with both Hamas and Israeli officials to arrange the withdrawal of Hamas operatives from areas east of the so‑called “yellow line.”
The initiative aims to ensure the fighters’ safe exit and avoid clashes with IDF units. Under the proposed arrangement, withdrawals would be carried out using Red Cross vehicles and would travel along dedicated, secure corridors agreed in advance by the parties involved.
Lapkin wrote that Hamas has given its consent to the exit procedures for the detained operatives, and mediators are now awaiting formal approval from Israel before the plan can move forward. No timeline was provided, and Israeli officials have not commented in the report.
Doron Kadosh commented:
The “captured terrorists” being referred to are those trapped in the Rafah tunnels, they are the same fighters who killed three IDF soldiers in recent weeks after the ceasefire went into effect. They are also the ones who exited the tunnels multiple times and fired at IDF forces, as confirmed by the IDF spokesperson just yesterday.
Will Israel allow them to leave the tunnels and return to their families in Gaza after fighting IDF soldiers and killing three soldiers?
We have reached out to the Prime Minister’s Office and the Defense Minister’s Office for comment on this report.
