Busted: IDF Finds Three New Hezbollah Tunnel Shafts Hidden Inside Southern Lebanon Church

IDF forces in Southern Lebanon have uncovered a Hezbollah terror tunnel hidden directly beneath a village church. Despite the site being cleared last year, new evidence shows Hezbollah used the recent ceasefire to rebuild its terror infrastructure.

Israeli soldiers just uncovered a disturbing discovery in the southern Lebanese village of Al-Khiam: a functional Hezbollah terror tunnel built directly into the grounds of a local church.

The IDF’s Givati Brigade, operating under the 91st Division, found the underground combat space during recent sweeps of the area. According to military officials, this isn't the first time they’ve dealt with this specific site. The tunnel was originally found and cleared of weapons and fighters back in December 2024.

However, when troops returned to the church recently, they didn't just find the old tunnel, they found three brand-new shafts.

Military sources say this is clear proof that Hezbollah exploited the recent ceasefire to move back in and rebuild their military infrastructure under the cover of a religious site.

"This is a classic Hezbollah move," the IDF said in a statement. "They are cynically using Lebanese civilians as human shields and systematically turning religious institutions and civilian buildings into active combat zones."

The IDF emphasized that using houses of worship for military purposes is a direct violation of international law. They noted that the operation was launched based on "precise intelligence" showing that the church had once again been turned into a launchpad for terror operations.
