The Israeli military has entered a state of maximum alert as it prepares for a potential resumption of direct war with Iran. In a critical general staff situational assessment, the newly appointed Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, ordered the defense establishment to place soldiers at the absolute top of national priorities while issuing a stark warning about how quickly current regional tensions could spiral into full-scale combat.

Addressing the military leadership, Zamir noted that Israel has reached a painful and historic milestone in its ongoing campaign. He stressed that the prolonged duration of the fighting requires an immediate reassessment of how the nation supports its active duty and reserve forces. The general tied the current strategic crossroads to lessons learned from past campaigns, specifically noting the twentieth anniversary of the Second Lebanon War.

"We are marking today 1,000 days since the outbreak of the longest war in our history," Zamir stated at the opening of his address. He chose not to shy away from the catastrophic beginnings of the current multi-front campaign. "A war that began with a failure and the most terrible disaster in the history of the State of Israel. From within the disaster we arose, recovered, and led a campaign that brought unprecedented achievements in the history of the country."

The top general focused heavily on the enduring threat posed by Tehran, which continues to orchestrate actions across multiple borders. He explained that any current lull in intense fighting is merely temporary and could change without warning. "Iran continues to be the central focus for readiness," Zamir emphasized to the gathered commanders.

According to the military chief, Israel is currently maneuvering through an unstable transitional phase that could rupture at any moment. "We are in an interim period in all arenas of warfare," Zamir explained. "All arenas are still active at varying levels of intensity, and shaping processes are taking place in every single arena."

The interconnected nature of the modern battlefield means that a spark in one area will immediately ignite another. "The arenas are connected to each other, and any action in one is likely to affect the other," Zamir warned. "In every sector, we must continue to be alert and prepared for rapid escalation and an immediate return to fighting for the sake of deepening our achievements and for victory."

Beyond the immediate tactical preparations for a renewed war, the Chief of Staff explained that the military must utilize this current window for deep internal recovery. He ordered commanders to use the coming days to reduce the extreme burnout experienced by frontline units. This operational pause is intended to comprehensively care for personnel and rapidly upgrade combat readiness for the challenges ahead.

Zamir credited the strategic successes achieved across the multi-front war entirely to the sheer determination and sacrifice of the men and women serving on the front lines, alongside the logistical networks supporting them. He emphasized that the heavy burden carried by these individuals must be recognized by the political leadership through tangible actions rather than just words.

"The soldiers and commanders in the regular forces, the permanent service, and the reserves are the most important resource of the State of Israel," Zamir concluded. "It is right and proper that they be the first in the order of priorities to receive the state's appreciation in decisions and resources, while caring for them, their families, and their future."
