IDF Soldier St.-Sgt. Or Demry Falls After Hezbollah Fire in Lebanon
The IDF announced the death of St.-Sgt. Or Demry, 20, a Combat Engineering soldier from Liman. Demry was killed during a mission in southern Lebanon. He is the second soldier to fall in the current operation.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) cleared for publication today (Monday) the name of a fallen soldier whose family has been notified.
St.-Sgt. Or Demry, 20, from the northern community of Liman, fell during a fierce battle in Southern Lebanon.
Demry served as a heavy engineering equipment (CME) operator in the Combat Engineering Corps, assigned to the 91st Division (the "Galilee Division"). He was posthumously promoted from the rank of Sergeant to Staff Sergeant.
According to preliminary reports, St.-Sgt. Demry was killed during a complex rescue operation involving two D9 bulldozers at the Magen Tzivoni outpost. His unit was working to extract a stuck armored vehicle when his bulldozer was struck by enemy fire, possibly a mortar shell or an anti-tank missile. He is the second IDF soldier to fall in Lebanon since the recent escalation began on March 1, 2026: Maher Hattar was the first soldier who fell, in the same incident as Or.
The IDF released a statement expressing its deepest condolences to the family and affirming that it will continue to support them during this difficult time.
