IDF soldiers fired warning shots near a diplomatic delegation in Jenin on Wednesday, after the group reportedly strayed from a pre-approved route in an active combat zone.

According to Israeli security sources, the delegation had been briefed in advance but deviated into an unauthorized area, prompting soldiers, unaware of their diplomatic status, to fire into the air for dispersal. The IDF has launched an investigation and is expected to issue a formal clarification.

At the end of the event, and after it was clarified that it involved a diplomatic delegation, the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division, Brigadier General Yaki Dolev, immediately investigated the event.

Additionally, the head of the Civil Administration, Brigadier General Hisham Ibrahim, held discussions with representatives of the countries and updated them on the findings of the preliminary investigation conducted on the matter. "The IDF regrets the inconvenience caused," a statement from the IDF spokesperson said.
