Danger: Israeli Druze At Risk of Being Taken Hostage
Israeli security sources speaking to Israeli media said that Druze crossing the border into Syria are at serious risk of being taken hostage by hostile forces with the aim of forcing the IDF out of southern Syria.
A senior official told N!@ News today (Wednesday) that: “There is serious concern over the abduction of Israeli Druze civilians by jihadists, to use them as bargaining chips that would force the IDF to withdraw from Syria. We are preparing for this possibility and cannot elaborate beyond that. We urge Israeli citizens to return home quickly.”
Dozens of Israeli Druze tried to force their way into Syria to help their brethren under assault from regime forces and their Bedouin allies, in clashes that have killed up to 300 people.
