Knesset member Tally Gotliv has firmly denied published reports alleging that fellow Likud politician Nir Barkat attempted to remove Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from office immediately following the October 7 attacks.
Her public defense of Barkat has sparked criticism from Likud party activists and officials, with speculation emerging on social media about her motivations. Michelle Prochter, a prominent Likud activist known for her unwavering support of Netanyahu, wrote: "It's interesting what compensation Tally Gotliv received from Nir Barkat to be the only one in Likud jumping to his defense and denying the publications by Amit Segal and Motti Kastel about Barkat trying to oust Netanyahu from the premiership immediately after the massacre."
Prochter also questioned Gotliv's support for another party figure, Sasson Guetta, and disputed her claim that Netanyahu wants her as justice minister, noting: "After she rebelled against him and didn't comply with his request to withdraw her candidacy from the Judicial Selection Committee, which led to Amit's appointment."
