A pedestrian in his twenties was struck by a vehicle on Route 2 near Netanya and pronounced dead at hospital despite resuscitation efforts

Scene of deadly crash

A man in his twenties from Tel Aviv was killed late Saturday night in a pedestrian accident on Route 2 near the Netanya interchange. The victim was struck by a private vehicle and, despite emergency resuscitation efforts at the scene, was pronounced dead at Laniado Hospital.

Magen David Adom (MDA) received the call at 11:19 p.m. and dispatched multiple units to the southbound lanes of Route 2. Paramedics arriving at the scene found the pedestrian lying beside the roadway, unconscious and without pulse or breathing, suffering from multi-system trauma.

MDA paramedic Igor Traskin and medics Maor Brantz and Roy Gimpovitz described what they encountered: "We saw the pedestrian lying beside the road, unconscious and suffering from severe injuries to his body after being struck by a vehicle. We provided life-saving medical treatment including resuscitation and evacuated him to the hospital in critical condition."

The victim was transported to Laniado Hospital in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical teams at the hospital, doctors were forced to pronounce him dead.

Israel Police spokesperson confirmed that traffic investigators from the Central District have opened an investigation into the fatal accident.
