Israeli Border Police neutralized a terrorist north of Jerusalem on Monday after he opened fire on forces during an operational activity.
According to a spokesperson for the Israel Police, Border Police units (Magav Judea and Samaria) were entering the village of Qalandiya for planned operational activity when they identified a suspect exiting a vehicle. The assailant immediately began firing at the officers using a long-barreled weapon.
The forces responded quickly, returning fire and neutralizing the terrorist on the scene.
"The fighters responded with speed and precision," the police statement confirmed. No Israeli casualties were reported in the exchange.
Update: Itay Blumental reported that the terrorist in Qalandiya: Iman al-Hashlamun, 30 years old, a resident of Al-Ram.
