Border Police Capture Suspect in Life-Threatening Child Smuggling Operation | WATCH
Border Police forces arrested a suspect Sunday who was filmed approximately two weeks ago dangerously lowering a small girl over Jerusalem's separation barrier while she was tied to a rope, placing her life in real danger.

Border Police fighters from the Jerusalem Envelope, directed by Border Police intelligence, operated Sunday in the village of A-Ram near Ramallah to arrest the suspect captured on video raising a young girl to the top of Jerusalem's separation barrier wall, tying her with a rope, and lowering her down the other side.
During the operational activity, Border Police forces entered the village accompanied by aerial support from the Border Police "Rakiya" unit, which specializes in operating drones and unmanned aircraft. They located the suspect outside a business in the village, where he was arrested.
The suspect, a 29-year-old resident of A-Ram village, was arrested on suspicion of smuggling illegal immigrants through the separation barrier and abuse of a helpless person. He has been transferred for further investigation by Border Police intelligence in the Jerusalem Envelope.
Police emphasize that any attempt to cross the separation barrier carries real life-threatening danger and constitutes a criminal offense under law. In certain cases, such attempts can result in serious injury or loss of life.
Border Police fighters of the Jerusalem Envelope continue to act decisively to thwart serious crimes and prevent situations that endanger human lives, while using operational and intelligence capabilities, with the goal of maintaining public security," police stated.
The investigation continues as authorities work to determine whether the suspect was part of a larger smuggling network and identify the girl and her family.
