According to Arab reports, there is an agreement in principle between Israel and Hamas on the desire to extend the ceasefire by two more days, which will result in the release of at least 90 Israeli hostages as part of the deal.

The Egyptian and Qatari press reports that the mediators between Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement in principle between the parties, that the truce will be extended by two more days. Which will lead to the truce lasting 9 full days, 90 abductees will be released at the end of the truce, in addition to the foreign citizens and the additional abductees that Hamas released.

The report comes against the backdrop of a particularly tense day during the ceasefire, when Hamas violated the ceasefire on at least two occasions during the last day, and detonated three explosive devices against IDF forces in the Gaza Strip that slightly injured several soldiers.

The overall cease-fire agreement allows for extensions of up to ten full days of the cease-fire, the report of agreement to an extension of two more days up to nine apparently indicates a desire to exhaust the existing agreement, which will soon come to an end, before returning to fighting and thus removing the danger of harming the hostages as much as possible.
