Passport Scandal: Police raid Jerusalem Foreign Ministry
Investigators from the Lahav 433 unit raided the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Jerusalem over concerns regarding the issuance of diplomatic passports to individuals not entitled to hold them. The officers conducted searches and seized relevant documents for investigation.

This morning, investigators from the National Fraud Investigation Unit (YAHAL) of Lahav 433 arrived at the Foreign Ministry headquarters in Jerusalem, carried out searches in the offices, and seized materials as part of an investigation into suspected illegal issuance of diplomatic passports.
The National Fraud Investigation Unit (YAHAL) of Lahav 433 began a covert investigation a few weeks ago regarding the suspicion that diplomatic passports were issued to individuals who were not eligible for them, as they did not meet the criteria for receiving a diplomatic passport.
As part of the investigation, YAHAL investigators from Lahav 433 conducted searches today at the Foreign Ministry and seized relevant documents for further investigation.
A diplomatic passport is a special type of passport issued to individuals holding official government positions, such as ambassadors, diplomats, and senior officials representing the Foreign Ministry.
A diplomatic passport facilitates smoother and faster travel between countries when the purpose of the trip is related to their official duties.
