Netanyahu, Hostage deal, Hamas-Gaza

Deal Soon? Netanyahu Emphasizes: "No Response from Hamas"

A White House spokesperson stated, "We have been discussing a ceasefire for some time, and we are closer to achieving it than ever before. There is a good proposal for both sides, and they need to accept it. Nothing has changed; the urgency remains high, and we continue to push for it."

In response, Netanyahu’s office quickly dampened the enthusiasm, saying, "Israel has already made a clear offer and sent a negotiating delegation to Cairo last Saturday. As of now, no response has been received from Hamas."

Despite Netanyahu's statement, it is worth noting that earlier, after Secretary of State Antony Blinken mentioned that negotiations on a hostage deal had reached the final stage, a political source told Srugim news that no deal is currently on the table.

According to the source, Hamas is not even willing to agree to the most basic condition that Israel could continue the war after the deal is completed. An arena involving Iran would generally lead to regional instability.
