"Clear proof of Hezbollah's strength": Iran celebrates new Hezbollah leader
Sheikh Naim Qassem was appointed head of Hezbollah following the elimination of Hassan Nasrallah and his intended successor Hashem Safieddine in IDF air strikes.

The Iranian Embassy in Lebanon congratulated Hezbollah's decision to appoint Sheikh Naim Qassem as its Secretary-General today (Tuesday).
The Embassy said that the decision is "clear proof of the strength of Hezbollah and Lebanon's desire to protect its sovereignty against any aggression."
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant responded very differently to the appointment, calling Qassem a "temporary appointment" and saying that "the countdown has begun" to his presumed elimination by Israel.
Energy Minister Eli Cohen also said that any leader of Hezbollah will be a target for Israeli elimination.
Qassem was chosen as Hezbollah's new leader after Israel eliminated Hassan Nasrallah and his intended successor Hashem Safieddine in separate air strikes.
