Israel-Hezbollah War
Report: Netanyahu agrees to move to ceasefire in north
Following a meeting yesterday with representatives of defense bodies, the Prime Minister agreed to move forward with a ceasefire proposal - if it meets this one condition.

Following a meeting with select representatives of the defense establishment yesterday (Tuesday), Prime Minister Netanyahu signaled his readiness to move forward with a ceasefire effort, according to N12 News.
Netanyahu reached this conclusion after being presented with the views of those involved in the war effort, per which Israel is close to completing its initial war aims along the border and in general, and that now is the time to convert the military success into diplomatic achievement.
Netanyahu conditions his agreement to work towards a ceasefire on one condition: that the agreement ensure that the residents of the north be able to return home safely, one of the stated war aims of the government.
In his maiden speech, newly minted Hezbollah Secretary-General said that they are open to a ceasefire, but not under fire - though also not conditional on a ceasefire in the south.
