‘A rare opportunity’: Yossi Dagan calls for sovereignty in Judea and Samaria
Samaria Governor: US administration will back Israel’s decisions on security and sovereignty.

Samaria Council Governor Yossi Dagan responded to US President Donald Trump's remarks during a press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling them a "clear and moving" declaration in support of Israel's strategic security and the emmigration of Arabs from Gaza.
“Never before have such statements been made so directly and transparently,” Dagan stated. “This is the exact message we share with our American guests when they stand on the ‘Country’s Balcony’ in Samaria, overlooking Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion Airport. The world is divided into good and bad, and President Trump has chosen the right side of history.”
Dagan emphasized that this moment presents a historic opportunity for Israel to assert its sovereignty over Judea and Samaria. "I fully support Prime Minister Netanyahu and his government and urge them to act now—to declare sovereignty in Judea and Samaria in the coming days."
He further stressed that Israel’s security depends on a strong Jewish presence in the region: “Victory in the south and north must also mean victory in Judea and Samaria. Strengthening Jewish communities here is Israel’s true defensive belt. The way to prevent the next October 7th attack in central Israel is by fortifying our presence and asserting sovereignty.”
Dagan concluded by saying that the current US administration respects Israel’s right to make its own security decisions, even if it does not agree with every move. "This administration seeks to correct past injustices. The application of sovereignty is not only historical justice—it is what ensures Israel’s security."
