It has been cleared for publication that IDF reservist Sergeant Major (Res.) Shmuel Gad Rachamim, 31, from Giv’at Ze’ev, has died.

Rachamim, a fighter in Battalion 7015 of the Southern Brigade, was critically injured on October 7, 2025, when an IDF grenade exploded in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.

The incident took place at around 8 a.m. at an IDF post. The grenade exploded inside a room where soldiers were residing and sleeping, as a result of unclear circumstances.

Two other reservists were wounded in the incident, including one seriously.

As a result, an expert committee has been established under the leadership of the brigade commander. The committee’s findings have not yet been completed or released.

Rachamim is the 915th soldier to fall since the start of the war.

May his memory be blessed.
