Hamas has issued a statement emphasizing its commitment to the prisoner release agreement, asserting that all detainees will be freed according to the schedule. The declaration, which carries a clear message to U.S. President Donald Trump, reflects the group’s dual stance: compliance with the deal while maintaining authority over Gaza.

Security analysts note that recent targeted killings and Hamas’s public shows of force demonstrate that the organization remains dominant on the ground, even after two years of ongoing conflict. Full elimination or neutralization of Hamas, they warn, is not yet achievable.

Hamas officials also hinted that hostage-taking remains part of their strategic arsenal. While not necessarily in Gaza, previous attempts in Judea and Samaria suggest they may continue this tactic elsewhere.
