Beit Shemesh Blaze: Mother and Children Rescued, Two in Serious Condition
Mother and two children rescued from a Beit Shemesh apartment fire; both children in serious condition, one critically injured.

A fire broke out today (Wednesday) in an upper-floor apartment on Nachal Arugot Street in Beit Shemesh. Emergency responders rescued a mother and her two children from the burning building. Both children sustained serious injuries and were evacuated by paramedics from United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom (MDA) to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. The mother’s condition is reported as mild.
The fire erupted around 6:00 PM. First responders provided immediate medical care on-site before transporting the injured.
Daniel Shor, a regional paramedic with United Hatzalah in Ramat Beit Shemesh, and paramedics Yosef Treisman, Yair Perush, and Ari Deblinger stated: “Two young victims were rescued from the burning building in serious condition due to burns and smoke inhalation. We provided initial medical treatment and then transported them to the hospital. The mother received medical attention as well and is currently in mild to moderate condition.”
MDA paramedic Yehoshua Amit added: “Upon arrival, we saw heavy smoke coming from one of the apartments. Firefighters rescued three victims, including one unconscious. All had inhaled significant amounts of smoke. We provided life-saving care and transported them in MDA intensive care ambulances to the hospital; the condition of the unconscious patient remains unstable.”
Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances of the fire. Firefighters continue to secure the scene, and Beit Shemesh police are managing the area to keep bystanders at a safe distance.
