Haddad hit again over Gaza reconstruction clip

Days after uproar over his support for a Palestinian state, a 2024 video emerges showing the Amcha Yisrael candidate saying Israel would rebuild Gaza and later withdraw from every centimeter

Yosef Haddad Backed Gaza Reconstruction and Eventual Israeli Withdrawal

Yosef Haddad, number two on Ofer Winter's Amcha Yisrael list, found himself under fire again this week after a second video surfaced showing positions at odds with his party leader.

Last week, footage from roughly five years ago emerged in which he voiced support for establishing a Palestinian state.

On Tuesday night, Channel 13's Michael Shemesh aired a newer clip, from about two years ago, after October 7, in which Haddad discusses the future of the Gaza Strip.

Speaking during the war, Haddad said: "We will work to rebuild the Gaza Strip after the war." He added that Israel would later be able to withdraw from every centimeter of the Gaza Strip.

The position stands in sharp contrast to Winter's, who advocates expelling all Gazans from the Strip.

In response, Haddad's office said: "This is manipulation. He said these things before the Trump plan and before he personally met the chairman of Amcha Yisrael, Ofer Winter."

Later, Haddad added on social media: "Another pathetic spin by political elements who apparently don't understand what Israeli hasbara is... Notice how they continue even on the eve of October 7 with forced attempts to turn me into a pro-Palestinian and enemy of the people while I continue to fight on the Israeli hasbara front against hostile pro-Palestinians to defend the state and IDF soldiers, including these days in Europe."
