Israel Braces for Heavy Rain, Flooding and Strong Winds Through Shabbos

Israel is heading into a sharp turn toward winter weather in the coming days, with temperatures dropping noticeably and heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds expected across much of the country.

Wednesday will see partly cloudy to clear skies, with temperatures falling in the eastern valleys but remaining slightly above seasonal average in most areas.

Thursday: Partly cloudy to cloudy, with a slight drop in temperatures bringing them to seasonal average. Occasional local rain is expected in the north and center of the country.

Friday: Partly cloudy to cloudy, with intermittent rain in the north and center, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms. There is concern for flooding in urban areas. Light rain is possible in the northern Negev, and there is a slight risk of flash floods in the Judean Desert and the Jordan Valley. Temperatures will drop and it will feel colder than usual.

Shabbos: Similar conditions.

Sunday: Rain will gradually stop, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures remaining cooler than usual for the season.
