Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas responded Tuesday evening to reports that Shin Bet chief David Zini has demanded he be summoned for questioning, along with three other MKs from Arab parties, as part of the election interference affair. In his statement, Abbas made clear he would come for questioning if required, but called on authorities to respect the election results.
"The attempt to smear the Arab public is unacceptable," Abbas said. "I and all members of Ra'am do not fear any investigation and are ready to appear before all law enforcement authorities, in accordance with the instructions of the Attorney General and the judicial system, which have proven time and again that they are subject to the law and not to other political actors."
