A new deal?
Trump poised to reveal Gaza ceasefire deal linked to hostage release
Breakthrough expected within days as Trump prepares to announce agreement aimed at freeing Israeli hostages and securing return of remains.

The Arabic-language Sky News network reported Monday morning that the prevailing assessment among regional officials is that U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to announce a ceasefire agreement in Gaza within the coming days. The announcement is anticipated to be part of a broader deal aimed at securing the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
The report comes as Egyptian media outlets earlier detailed key developments in the ongoing hostage negotiations. According to these sources, the expected ceasefire agreement would span at least sixty days, during which a phased release of hostages and the return of bodies is planned.
Under the terms currently being discussed, five living Israeli hostages would be released on the first day of the ceasefire, with another five to be freed on the sixtieth day. In addition, the bodies of sixteen hostages are expected to be handed over during the course of the agreement. The timeline reportedly allows Hamas time to locate burial sites for several hostages whose whereabouts it claims not to know.
The Egyptian reports also note a major demand by Hamas: the release of all Gaza-based terrorists currently imprisoned in Israel, including those arrested before and after the October 7 massacre.
