Israeli officials assess with high probability that Donald Trump’s sweeping 21-point plan to end the Gaza war is likely to move forward, as new details emerge from Arab and Western media outlining its ambitious scope.

According to reports on Al-Arabiya and CNN, the plan calls for the release of all Israeli hostages within 48 hours, the gradual withdrawal of IDF forces from Gaza, the release of thousands of Palestinian prisoners, including up to 200 serving life sentences and the establishment of a temporary international administration in Gaza before control transitions to a Palestinian committee. Additional clauses include a U.S. pledge to block any future Israeli annexation moves in Judea and Samaria, an Arab-international effort to disarm Hamas, and multi-year commitments for Gaza’s reconstruction.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, however, is insisting on two key red lines: that the U.S. humanitarian aid fund for Gaza not be shut down and that iconic Palestinian figures, such as Marwan Barghouti, not be released.

Trump, who has personally promoted the deal as “very close” to completion, wrote on his platform that Hamas is “well aware of the details” of the proposed agreement. His envoys have privately conveyed to Netanyahu that “the time has come to end the war.”

The diplomatic push comes against a backdrop of intensifying regional drama. On the one-year anniversary of Hassan Nasrallah’s assassination, Hezbollah has reiterated that it will not disarm. Just hours before Netanyahu’s high-profile UN General Assembly speech, Israel launched a new wave of strikes on Gaza, signaling its determination to maintain military pressure.

In New York, Netanyahu’s address, amplified live into Gaza by loudspeakers in a psychological warfare move, was accompanied by highly symbolic gestures, including a distinctive lapel pin. Outside the UN, families of Israeli hostages demonstrated, declaring that “the time for speeches is long past.”

Leaders of Israel’s settlement movement, for their part, announced plans to travel to the U.S. this weekend in response to Trump’s framework, which they view as threatening to their long-term objectives.

Netanyahu struck a defiant tone at the UN podium, vowing: “Israel will continue the fight until Hamas is destroyed, regardless of international pressure.”
