Al-Quds Day Becomes a "Death Trap": Iranian Regime Elites Targeted by Drones During Mass Parade
Al-Quds Day turns into a fatal trap for Iran's elite. Reports indicate the potential elimination of Ali Larijani and the Basij Commander after Israeli-American strikes targeted a high-level parade in Tehran.

What was intended to be a traditional display of defiance for the annual Al-Quds Day has reportedly turned into a strategic catastrophe for the Iranian leadership. Amidst the ongoing war and unprecedented Israeli-American strikes, high-ranking regime officials who emerged from hiding to join the masses in Tehran now face reports of targeted eliminations.
Despite the heightened state of conflict and direct strikes on Iranian soil, President Masoud Pezeshkian, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and senior figure Ali Larijani chose to march among the crowds. This decision is being characterized by analysts as a "parade of hubris" that ultimately exposed the leadership to immediate danger.
High-Value Targets in the Crosshairs
The fallout from the decision to appear in public was immediate. Explosions rocked key gathering points in Tehran, including Ferdowsi Square, as Israeli and U.S. aircraft patrolled the skies.
* Ali Larijani: Israeli sources have confirmed that Larijani, one of the most powerful figures in the regime's current hierarchy, was a primary target. Authorities in Jerusalem are currently assessing the success of the strike to determine if he has been officially eliminated.
* Basij Command: Reports indicate that the Commander of the Basij was killed in a missile strike alongside a group of high-ranking officers.
* Law Enforcement: Ahmad-Reza Radan, the chief of Iran’s police and enforcement forces, was also present during the high-risk event, placing the regime's internal security apparatus directly under fire.

Israel issued advance warnings to the Iranian public, urging civilians to evacuate specific areas along the parade route. This move has bolstered claims by Israeli officials that regime leaders intentionally sought to use the civilian population as "human shields" to deter precision strikes.
The IDF Chief of Staff hinted that Israel is seizing every operational window to strike IRGC and regime officials, even when they attempt to blend into civilian gatherings.
The loss of Larijani and the Basij leadership marks a "colossal error" for a regime already reeling from the start of the war on February 28. With senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) officials also reportedly targeted while visiting Tehran for the events, the strike represents a comprehensive blow to the "Resistance Axis" command structure.
As rumors of further eliminations circulate, the primary question remains whether the decapitation of this leadership tier signals the beginning of the end for the current clerical rule.
