Over the past weekend, Israel carried out a series of targeted assassinations using "suicide drones" (loitering munitions) against Basij operatives patrolling Iranian streets. Israeli officials have confirmed these reports, marking a shift in the depth of tactical operations within Iranian territory.

In response, the regime has adopted a provocative and dangerous tactic to protect its personnel. According to reports today (Sunday) from Iran International, a media outlet identified with the Iranian opposition, citizens are reporting that security forces are intentionally setting up roadblocks in major thoroughfares to generate heavy traffic congestion.

The goal of these man-made traffic jams is to deter the IDF from carrying out airstrikes in crowded public spaces, effectively turning ordinary Iranian citizens into human shields.

Last Thursday, the IDF officially addressed the situation, stating: "Following widespread damage to the core assets of Iran's internal security forces and the Basij, the IDF has identified in recent days that Basij units have established checkpoints in several areas of Tehran."

The IDF spokesperson continued: "Following the identification of these positions, the Air Force, guided by military intelligence (Aman), attacked Basij checkpoints and soldiers over the past 24 hours. These armed forces are part of the Iranian regime's security apparatus and have been responsible for executing terror plots for years."

The military emphasized that these specific units are the primary forces behind the brutal suppression of internal protests, utilizing extreme violence, mass arrests, and lethal force against Iranian civilians.

"The IDF will continue to strike the systems and operatives of the Iranian terror regime wherever they operate," the statement concluded. "The completed strikes are part of the phase to deepen the damage to the core systems and foundations of the Iranian terror regime."
