Drama in Croatia: Plane Veers Off Runway During Aborted Takeoff | WATCH
A Croatia Airlines flight crew executed a sudden aborted takeoff. The aircraft skidded, veered onto the shoulder, and struck a signboard and runway lights.

Dramatic moments were recorded on Saturday night at Split Airport in Croatia, when a Croatia Airlines passenger plane veered off the runway during an aborted takeoff and became stuck on a grass field along the runway's edge. There were 130 passengers and 5 crew members on board.
The aircraft, an Airbus A220-300, was scheduled to take off from Split bound for Frankfurt. According to reports, during the takeoff run, the flight crew abruptly aborted the acceleration. Following heavy braking, thick smoke came out from under the landing gear, after which the plane veered off the runway and came to a stop on the grass.
As it careened onto the grass at the edge of the runway, the plane struck a barrier with its engine turbine and sustained damage from colliding with a signboard and runway edge lights.
Despite the impact and the damage caused to the aircraft, none of the passengers or crew members were injured.
