CENTCOM Posts Video of USS Abraham Lincoln Ready for Action | WATCH
CENTCOM releases video of USS Abraham Lincoln flight deck operations as carrier strike group maintains presence in Persian Gulf amid Iran tensions and Houthi threats.

U.S. Central Command highlighted the precision of aircraft carrier operations today, posting footage of the USS Abraham Lincoln conducting flight deck operations in the Middle East, as talks between Iran and the U.S. loom, with neither side being partuclarly hopeful about their outcome.
The post on X emphasized the coordinated teamwork behind what appears to be chaotic activity on the carrier flight deck. "What looks like a random rush of jets and people is actually a well-orchestrated routine" CENTCOM wrote.
The 23-second time-lapse video shows aerial views of the Lincoln's flight deck during daylight operations over calm seas. Fighter jets, likely F/A-18 Super Hornets or F-35C Lightning IIs from Carrier Air Wing 9, are repositioned, hooked to catapults and prepared for launch. Crew members in color-coded jerseys coordinate movements across the angled deck.
The USS Abraham Lincoln, flagship of Carrier Strike Group 3, is currently deployed in CENTCOM's area of responsibility, which includes the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf. The Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier departed San Diego in late 2025 for an extended deployment amid escalating regional tensions.
The carrier's presence comes as the region faces multiple security challenges, including Houthi attacks on commercial shipping in the Red Sea, Iranian proxy activities, and ongoing tensions with Tehran. The Lincoln has been involved in intercepting Houthi drones and missiles and providing air support for U.S. and allied forces.
The carrier has conducted joint exercises with the Israeli Air Force in the past, supporting U.S.-Israel security cooperation in the region.
