A Pakistani Foreign Ministry source told the pro-Qatari outlet Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that Islamabad’s latest proposal to end the US-Iran war includes a 60-day extension of the ceasefire, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and including Lebanon in the broader arrangement.

According to the report, the ceasefire extension would serve as a temporary framework while the sides work toward a final agreement. During that period, the Strait of Hormuz would reopen without tolls, and Iran would remove mines it had placed there to allow ships to pass freely. The source said there was agreement on reopening the strait and lifting the US blockade on Iranian ports, while American and Iranian forces would remain in their current positions.

The proposal also calls for easing restrictions on frozen Iranian funds. The Pakistani source said no final agreement had been reached on that issue, though significant progress had been made.

Lebanon would also be included in the arrangement. According to the report, the sides agreed that a ceasefire would take effect there, with Washington and Tehran supporting continued Israeli-Lebanese talks.

The Iranian nuclear issue would be pushed to a second stage of dialogue, which the sides have already agreed to hold. The Pakistani proposal states that nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran would resume from the point at which they previously stopped.

Pakistan is seeking to have the understanding named the “Islamabad Agreement” or “Islamabad Treaty” and signed in the Pakistani capital.

The reported proposal comes as Pakistan continues mediating between Washington and Tehran, with both sides reviewing messages passed through Islamabad. US President Donald Trump has said he delayed a planned strike on Iran after Gulf leaders urged him to give diplomacy more time, while Iran has said it is reviewing the latest American position.
