"A Total Lie": Revolutionary Guard Slams American Claims of Breaking the Blockade
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has dismissed President Trump’s "Project Freedom" as a fabrication, insisting that their blockade of the Strait of Hormuz remains fully intact.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has issued a stinging rebuttal to recent announcements from Washington regarding the success of "Project Freedom." In an official statement, the IRGC’s media office characterized American claims that commercial ships had successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz as "baseless and a total lie." The Iranian military insists that no commercial vessels or oil tankers have passed through the narrow waterway in recent hours, maintaining that their naval forces retain absolute control over all maritime traffic in the region.
This fierce denial comes directly after President Donald Trump announced that two U.S. flagged ships had successfully crossed the Strait, signaling the start of a mission to restore freedom of navigation. U.S. Central Command further supported this by stating that guided missile destroyers are actively operating in the Arabian Gulf to assist commercial shipping. However, the IRGC countered this by warning that any "maritime movements that contradict the principles of our navy" will be met with severe danger and that any violating vessels will be "stopped by force."
The standoff has created a high stakes propaganda war alongside the physical naval combat. While the U.S. aims to reassure the global market that it can protect the 20% of the world's oil that passes through the Strait, Iran is equally determined to show that it can paralyze international trade. Commanders at the Hatem al-Anbiya headquarters have reinforced this stance, declaring that any foreign military force that approaches the Strait will be attacked immediately. As both sides claim dominance over the water, the 2,000 ships currently trapped in the region remain in a state of perilous uncertainty, caught between American promises of protection and Iranian threats of destruction.
