Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council and a close confidant of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, issued a direct public message to President Donald Trump on X ahead of Netanyahu's visit to Washington. Netanyahu is now on his way to the United States, Larijani wrote. The Americans must think wisely and not allow him, through pretense, to hint before his flight that I want to go and teach the Americans the framework of nuclear negotiations. They must stay alert to the destructive role of the Zionists.

Larijani referenced an old article by Netanyahu justifying the U.S. invasion of Iraq, asking: Do you remember this wise advice from Mr. America-Last? Can you understand how much his bad advice cost the United States?

The tweet appears aimed at sowing doubt about Israel's input into the talks and reinforcing Iran's narrative that external pressures, particularly from Jerusalem, are obstructing diplomacy. It comes as the United States and Iran prepare for Friday's meeting in Oman, with Washington insisting any deal must address ballistic missiles and proxy support, while Tehran wants a narrow focus on the nuclear file.

Larijani's intervention signals Tehran's attempt to frame the negotiations as a bilateral matter between Washington and Tehran, free from what it calls Zionist interference. The message coincides with intense regional diplomacy, including Larijani's own meetings in Oman and planned talks in Doha with Qatari leaders, as Oman and Qatar continue mediating between the two sides.
