BREAKING: Counterterrorism Director Joe Kent Resigns in Protest Over U.S. War With Iran
National Counterterrorism Center Director Joe Kent resigns in protest over U.S. war with Iran, citing lack of imminent threat and Israeli lobby pressure.

Joe Kent, Director of the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), has resigned from his position, becoming the first senior official in the Trump administration to step down in protest over the ongoing war with Iran.
In a statement posted on X, Kent wrote:“After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.”
Kent, a retired Green Beret and Gold Star husband, was appointed by President Trump to lead the NCTC. No immediate comment has been issued by the White House or Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. The resignation comes amid growing debate over U.S. involvement in the conflict with Iran.
