Joe Rogan Sparks Backlash After Podcast Comments on Israel and Jewish Sex Offenders

Podcast host Joe Rogan is facing sharp criticism after appearing to echo antisemitic tropes during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.
In a clip circulating widely on social media, Rogan claimed that Israel has become the “number one place” where Jewish sex offenders from America flee, suggesting the country offers them special protection.
“They take anybody in… Especially Jewish people,” Rogan said during the conversation with comedian Ari Shaffir.
The discussion referenced high-profile cases including Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, and Bernie Madoff. Rogan added that one of the figures “kind of proves Kanye’s point a little bit,” referring to Kanye West’s antisemitic remarks.
Rogan went on to say it was “amazing how many Jewish people… have an opinion about everything,” but suggested they avoid or deflect criticism when it comes to Israel, at one point mockingly saying “Oy vey.”
The comments quickly drew accusations that Rogan was promoting conspiracy theories about Jewish influence, dual loyalty, and Israel as a haven for criminals. Many online compared him to figures like Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, and Candace Owens.
Rogan, whose podcast regularly draws millions of listeners, has previously faced criticism for platforming controversial guests and comments on sensitive topics. This latest controversy comes amid heightened tensions around antisemitism and the Israel-Hamas war.
As of Sunday, Rogan has not publicly responded to the backlash.
The full episode context has not been widely released beyond the viral clip.
