What began as casual storm footage ended with a direct lightning strike captured on camera. Chris Sciabona was playing golf last Friday at a course near Cincinnati, Ohio, when heavy rain began to fall. While one of his companions attempted to free a golf cart stuck in mud, Sciabona pulled out his phone to record the scene.
The footage shows Sciabona standing in a tree-covered area filming his friends during the storm. The atmosphere appears relatively normal until everything changes in an instant. A powerful flash accompanied by a tremendous boom strikes his arm, throwing him backward. The camera continues recording the dramatic seconds as the person behind it becomes the subject of his own video.
