MAGA Feud

MTG has lost it completely

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has thrust herself into the eye of a political storm with a chilling X post yesterday (Saturday), hinting at threats from “powerful people” and “foreign governments” as she pushes to unseal Jeffrey Epstein’s explosive files. The ominous declaration “I am not suicidal” not only reignited conspiracy theories about elite cover-ups but also sparked a venomous feud with far-right provocateur Laura Loomer, exposing deep fractures within the MAGA movement as the Epstein saga collides with personal rivalries.

Greene’s post came as she doubled down on supporting Rep. Thomas Massie’s (R-Ky.) discharge petition to force a House vote on releasing Epstein’s records. “I have full faith in God,” she wrote, urging followers to investigate “which foreign government or powerful people would take heinous actions to stop the information from coming out” if anything happens to her. The statement, echoing Epstein’s own 2019 “suicide” suspicions, followed her September 3 press conference with Epstein accusers, where she vowed to name alleged accomplices on the House floor using congressional immunity.

The post set off a firestorm, with speculation swirling over who Greene fears. Online chatter, amplified by outlets like Gateway Pundit, pointed to Israel’s Mossad, citing newly unsealed Epstein documents suggesting ties to the financier and Greene’s past critiques of U.S. aid to Israel, including her August 7 call for AIPAC to register as a foreign lobbyist.

Turkish-language posts and X users fueled this narrative, framing her warning as evidence of U.S. internal strife over Epstein’s alleged intelligence connections. Others invoked a broader “deep state,” referencing historical assassinations like JFK or Epstein himself, with survivors like Anouska De Georgiou reporting threats and surveillance. A Trump aide reportedly called the petition a “hostile act,” while House GOP leaders, including Speaker Mike Johnson, have resisted a vote to shield implicated elites.

Enter Laura Loomer, the Trump-aligned firebrand, who turned the controversy personal. Loomer mocked Greene’s warning as the product of a “midlife crisis at 51” and “alcoholism,” referencing unverified rumors of Greene’s 2023 divorce and alleged affairs. “Nobody is trying to kill you, @mtgreenee. Put the alcohol down,” she wrote, dismissing the threat as fabricated and accusing Greene of “rage baiting low IQ anti-Semites” by not naming her enemies. The attack, paired with a photo of Greene, drew sharp rebukes from her supporters, with Academic Agent calling it “nasty psychological warfare.” Others branded Loomer’s tactics “desperate” for clout.

The feud lays bare MAGA’s fault lines. Greene, once a Trump loyalist, has clashed with his inner circle, including Loomer, over Israel policy and other issues, with her “Jewish space lasers” history and QAnon ties fueling past controversies. Their spat comes as only four Republicans back Massie’s petition, despite Trump’s September 26 call for full Epstein disclosure, a stance Greene praised but noted delays on.

Greene’s history of threats, from swatting to a 2024 death threat conviction against Garry Lebron Hayes, lends weight to her fears, though no specific new threats have been confirmed. Supporters on X urged prayers, with one calling her post a “chilling warning” amid “heavy death threats,” while critics dismissed it as “grifter” theatrics akin to Clinton-era conspiracies. The Daily Beast noted the frenzy risks galvanizing conspiracy theorists, potentially pressuring Trump as midterms loom.
