Poll: Majority of Lebanese blame America for Israel's actions; believe Hezbollah deters wider war
A poll conducted by Lebanese paper al-Akhbar shows relative consensus on America's responsibility for Israeli actions but sectarian splits on whether the war serves Lebanese interests.

A poll conducted by Lebanese paper al-Akhbar shows overwhelming support for the argument that the US is responsible for Israel's actions, across all religious sects, while Lebanese society is more divided on whether the war serves Lebanese interests or Hezbollah is deterring the IDF.
Some 90% of Lebanese polled said that the United States is "the main reason behind the continued escalation and the failure to end the aggression" in Gaza and Lebanon.
Meanwhile, just 63% believe the Hezbollah border war with Israel in support of Hamas in Gaza serves Lebanese interests. An overwhelming majority of Shia (90.7%), two-thirds of Sunnis (66.1%), more than half of Druze (53.6%), and a minority of Christians (40.4%) agree with this sentiment.
Lebanese sects are even more divided on the question of whether Hezbollah is successfully deterring the IDF from launching a wider war in Lebanon. 91% of Shia agree, followed by just 57% of Sunni and 50% of Druze, with a mere 33% of Christians.
