Reports from The Washington Post indicate that Aliji also considered other targets, including a Shiite mosque and Kurdish diplomats.

Investigators disclosed that Aliji’s plans were heavily influenced by Islamic State propaganda, combined with a prolonged period of depression and a preoccupation with his own death. His scheme involved detonating homemade explosives among the tens of thousands of fans expected to queue outside the concert venue.
