Al Sharaa in trouble
Syrian Forces Cross Euphrates After SDF Withdraws
President Trump has been nothing but kind to Al Sharaa. But we all know a leopard doesn't change it spots, so Al Sharaa's forces keep massacring Kurds.

In a significant escalation in eastern Syria, forces aligned with Ahmad al-Sharaa (formerly known as Abu Mohammad al-Jolani, leader of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham) and allied local tribes have begun crossing the Euphrates River using barges and pontoons.
This move follows reports that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) demolished several bridges during a hasty retreat from territories previously controlled by SDF and PKK-affiliated groups.
Additional footage and intelligence suggest these forces are advancing toward key areas, including: The eastern countryside of Raqq, the western and northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor and SDF-controlled zones near Hasakah.
This development comes amid broader Syrian army advances in northern regions, with the SDF announcing withdrawals east of the Euphrates as a de-escalation gesture. Tensions remain high, with mutual shelling reported and local tribes playing a pivotal role in the shifts of control.
Further complicating the situation, local Syrian sources said dozens of Islamic State (ISIS) detainees were released after Jolani government militias took over the al Maamel prison near the Deir ez Zor border in eastern Syria today, as reported by Open Source Intel.
