Sewers Without Borders: Migrants emerged from under the street, sparking panic

Ceuta, a Spanish enclave located on the North African coast, has become one of the most tense border zones on Europe's southern frontier. While authorities grapple with mass entry attempts from neighboring Morocco, recent footage from the area reveals unconventional infiltration methods, and a separate disturbing incident on the beach has also drawn widespread condemnation.

Video circulating online shows migrants using underground passages and drainage channels to approach Spanish territory. Additional footage from the region captured security forces discovering individuals hiding in tunnels and subterranean areas near the border.

The controversy surrounding events in Ceuta extended beyond the border itself. At El Tarajal beach, another video circulated showing a group of migrants holding a dolphin calf. The footage depicts those involved photographing themselves with the animal, sparking harsh reactions on social media.

Alongside the video, claims emerged that one of those involved struck the dolphin calf on the head and that the blows caused its death.

For Spain, Ceuta remains one of the most sensitive border points in Europe. For local authorities, each new entry attempt presents an additional challenge—and this time, the challenge comes not only from the sea and the fences, but from beneath the streets as well.
