Reports from the Iranian capital on Monday describe a night of unusual security activity followed by the abrupt closure of schools in the highly sensitive district housing the Supreme Leader’s office and the presidential compound.

According to the Persian-language network Manoto, families in the area were notified without warning at 7:00 AM on Monday that schools would be closed immediately. Students were reportedly sent home via pre-arranged transportation, with school administrators further clarifying that even online classes would not be held.
